The NMA has undergone significant changes within the galleries over the last few years, so this was an opportunity to update the current wayfinding to help visitors navigate the permanent galleries within the museum. As a part of this project, Artikel Design worked closely with the NMA team in auditing the existing system, gaining user insights and possible opportunities to improve user experience.

One of the outcomes from this work was to simplify the current visitor map to help users navigate the museum. The National Museum of Australia engaged Artikel Design to assist in developing an updated visitor map concept, simplifying the complex architecture to increase usability. Artikel worked closely with key stakeholders across the Museum in this concept phase exploring a range of 2D and 3D options.
